Deborah Hoffman has joined the FAMU College of Law after serving as a Visiting Instructor at the Business School of the University of Central Florida, teaching classes in real estate law and environmental law to both undergraduate and graduate level students. Prior to teaching at UCF, Ms. Hoffman was as an attorney at the New York based law firm of Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP, where she specialized in the practice area of real estate finance, representing a wide variety of lenders in the origination, syndication and securitization of commercial mortgages. Before joining Thacher, Ms. Hoffman served as an attorney at the Albany, New York law firm of Shanley, Sweeney, Reilly & Allen, P.C., where she worked on corporate and real estate matters, while representing large commercial developers. Ms. Hoffman earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University.
